Resident Rights: What You Can Expect From Us

A healthy recovery home doesn’t just have rules for residents—it also has responsibilities to residents.

At Journey to Sober Living, we believe every man deserves to be treated with dignity, no matter his past. Our policies are designed to protect both your recovery and your basic rights as a person.

As a resident, you have the right to:

  • Live in a safe, sober, and clean environment

  • Be treated with dignity and respect by staff and peers

  • Have clear written rules and policies you can read and understand

  • Know what can lead to warnings, consequences, or discharge

  • Have your personal information kept private within the limits of the law

  • Be free from abuse, neglect, or discrimination

You also have the right to ask questions. If you ever feel unsure about a rule, a decision, or a consequence, you can ask for an explanation. We want you to understand not just what we do, but why we do it.

Recovery is a partnership:

  • We hold you accountable to your commitments and the house rules.

  • We also hold ourselves accountable to provide a safe, honest, and supportive environment.

When men know both their responsibilities and their rights, they can relax, lean into the process, and focus on what matters most: staying sober, growing up emotionally, and building a meaningful life.
